We hope that this note finds you well. It has been a long and unusual year for us all, and it is nice to finally be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.
We have been fortunate, over the last few years, to see our business continue to grow. We’ve added new and wonderful clients to the list of existing (and equally wonderful) clients that we’ve had the great pleasure of assisting with their toughest software problems. We’ve also added new and amazing team members (some of whom we’ve had the distinct privilege of working with in our previous companies). And upon reflecting upon all of this growth, we realized that one thing that hasn’t really grown is our name.
You see, “Ardalis” is the name that Steve Smith, one of our founders, has used personally for years in his tech career. When our organization was just a couple of people, it made sense to use “Ardalis Services” so that those who followed Steve (aka Ardalis) could find us after seeing him online or at a conference. But for the last few years, we’ve really needed a name that reflected the fact that our team was so much more than one individual.
And so, let us introduce you to NimblePros! Really, if you are getting this note, you already know us. We’re still the same team, doing all of the same great things, just with a new name! For some of you, this is actually a reintroduction. You’ll remember NimblePros as the consulting company founded by Steve and Michelle Smith back in 2008. Eventually, that company was sold, the team went to work for the new owner, and the name was retired. However, we still had fond memories of our NimblePros days, as did many of our former coworkers and clients. In fact, many of those on our current team were part of the original NimblePros team, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work with them again.
Practically speaking, then, what does this change mean for our customers? The one key change that you will see is a new website (http://nimblepros.com). We’ve updated the information there to give you more information on who we are and what we do, and we’ll continue to make updates over the coming months. (If you’ve worked with us and been pleased enough that you would spare a few minutes to write a testimonial, we’d really appreciate being able to add that to the site!) You’ll also see some new branding on invoices and we’ve updated team email addresses, but the old emails will continue to work and payment details largely remain the same (including our EIN, for those of you who deal with accounting). Please let us know if you have any questions.
To answer the one question that many of you already probably already have – why a Meeple? One of the things that many on our NimblePros team have always enjoyed is board games. So, we used a Meeple (the wooden person figure used in many board games) for our original logo, and we decided to carry it forward into the new company as well. It tells you a little bit about us, and we think that it is really important to get to know the people you are working with.
Thanks again for all of your support over the last few years, and we look forward to hearing more about how we can assist you as we move forward with our new name (and a Meeple!).
